J2ME is a Java software environment that enables applications to run on a wide variety of wireless devices. The key benefit of J2ME is it allows applications to be written once for mobile information devices and be shared with other devices that support the Connected, Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) Specification and the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) Specification .
