The intent was to take two identical photos using different exposure settings. The foreground photo was taken using an exposure setting of +1.0 (overexposed) and the background photo was taking using a setting of –1.0 (underexposed). Most digital cameras allow you to manually select an exposure setting. Refer to your camera's user guide for more information on Exposure Bracketing.
