Oracle Application Performance Analysis Slow application performance is not uncommon in today’s enterprise environment. However, the ability to identify, drill down and pinpoint the exact problem plaguing users is more perplexing. This is the story of how one enterprise organization, using Network General Enterprise Solutions, was able to rectify issues that were hurting productivity and well as providing a source of great frustration for users and IT staff alike. After their most recent Oracle upgrade, users started complaining about extremely poor application performance. The network team ran several quick reports showing the actual performance for their customer service team. In Report 1, they immediately saw the response time the employees were experiencing exceeded their Service Level Agreement (SLA) of 1 second. It was also easy to see the majority of response time was incurred by the back-end database server, as the front-end application server response was fine. This report shows response time up to 5 seconds for back-end transactions!
